Serial Converter - RS232 to RS422
This converter here is especially suited to convert RS232 to RS422. In Lab grade quality, it is thought to directly connect to a PC. It uses a 10 pin flat ribbon cable receptacle for the RS422 and a SubD9 Female for the RS232. The pinout is the same as for all ibrt devices, except that Rx and Tx are swapped as this one ist the master of the RS422 bus.
Since it doesn't isolate the GND, it expects the PC case to be within the common mode voltage of the receivers which are a few (< 7) Volts. This means it is perfect for a lab, or inside a machine, but not for extended networks.
It is self powered, taking the power from the DTR and the RTS pin of the PC. The PC software has to set them accordingly.
